Introduction :
The microporous polypropylene(PP) separator has been widely used in Ni-MH secondary batteries. However, the PP separator has some problems that it shows low affinity to aqueous electrolyte and poor interfacial compatibility with electrode surface. Many studies has been progressed to enhance affinity to aqueous electrolyte of the separator. In this work, new microporous separators based on polyolefin polymers including the blend of polypropylene (PP)/polypropylene glycol(PPG) were prepared by electrospinning method. The PP/PPG blend separators were investigated physical properties by SEM and UTM measurement. The electrochemical performance of Ni- MH bicell with the PP/PPG blend separators was also evaluated.
